Role: Learning Support Worker (LSW I/II)
Location: Dunsfold, Surrey
The Mission
At the heart of everything we do is a simple belief: everyone deserves the opportunity to live a fulfilling, independent life. We are looking for dedicated Learning Support Workers to join our team in supporting autistic adults. This isn't just a care role; it's a coaching role. You will be the bridge between our learners and their goals, helping them acquire the skills they need to enhance their well-being and thrive within their community.
The Role
Working 1:1 or in small groups, you will deliver individualised curriculums that focus on holistic development. Your day-to-day will be varied, active, and deeply rewarding.
What you'll be doing:
- Teaching & Mentoring: Planning and delivering engaging activities that build real-world knowledge and skills.
- Community Integration: Supporting learners as they access social, leisure, and employment opportunities.
- Behavioural Support: Using positive, theory-based strategies to reduce barriers to learning and improve quality of life.
- Personal Care: Providing essential support with dignity-including hygiene, dressing, and toileting-to ensure learners feel their best.
- Progress Tracking: Collecting and recording data to ensure our teaching methods are effective and evolving with the learner.
About You
You don't need a lifetime of experience, but you do need a huge heart and a cool head. We are looking for people who are:
- Resilient: You stay calm under pressure and are comfortable supporting individuals who may exhibit challenging behaviour.
- Empathetic: You are a "people person" with a patient, person-centred approach.
- Proactive: You have a "can-do" attitude and a genuine interest in Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Autism.
- Collaborative: You enjoy working in a team and building trust with learners and their families.
Key Requirements:
- Experience (professional, personal, or voluntary) with disabilities is highly valued.
- Comfortable providing intimate/personal care.
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE Grade C/4 or equivalent preferred).
- A commitment to safeguarding (this role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check).
Why Join Us?
- Work-Life Balance: Rare 9-to-5 weekday hours in the care sector, with part-time flexibility.
- Generous Leave: 25 days annual leave, plus bank holidays and a dedicated Christmas closure.
- Continuous Learning: We invest in you. You'll receive comprehensive training to achieve relevant qualifications and become an expert in autism support.
- Values-Driven Culture: Work in an environment built on Integrity, Teamwork, and Excellence.
