An exciting opportunity is available for a proactive Lecturer in Health and Social Care. We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable individual to join a wonderful team, providing inspirational teaching and supporting students on their journey to success. This is a chance to use your industry experience to directly influence the development of future carers and health practitioners.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver High-Quality Teaching: Provide engaging and effective teaching and learning sessions across a range of Health and Social Care programs. This includes preparing schemes of work, maintaining teaching materials on our online platforms, and undertaking the necessary administrative tasks to ensure program success.
- Support Student Success: Act as a personal tutor, tracking student progress and providing essential feedback to help them achieve their targets. You will also contribute to the work placement element of the programs, ensuring students gain valuable real-world experience.
- Contribute to Departmental Growth: Play a key role in the recruitment and admission of new students, participate in promotional events, and contribute to the development of new curriculum initiatives.
- Maintain Professional Standards: Stay current with industry trends, legislation, and best practices. You will also be expected to build and maintain strong industrial links to enrich the learning experience for your students.
Requirements
- Qualifications: A relevant Health and Social Care/Health Science qualification to at least Level 3 is essential. You must also have Maths and English at a minimum of Level 2. While not a requirement upon entry, we are committed to supporting you in obtaining a formal teaching qualification if you do not already hold one.
- Experience: Recent and relevant industrial experience in the Health and Social Care sector is crucial. Previous teaching or lecturing experience in a Further Education environment is desirable.
- Skills: You must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to inspire confidence and motivate learners. You should be a team player, highly organized, and committed to promoting equality and diversity.
- Commitment: The role requires a flexible approach, as some evening and weekend work may be necessary. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults is paramount. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
