The Role
Are you a seasoned safeguarding professional with the confidence to manage complex allegations? Lancashire Children's Services is looking for an experienced LADO to join our dedicated Safeguarding, Inspection and Audit team.
In this pivotal role, you will be the point of contact for managing allegations against individuals working with children. You'll provide the expert oversight and professional judgement necessary to ensure that every child in Lancashire is protected by safe practice and accountable professionals.
What You'll Do
Manage Allegations: Provide high-quality advice and oversight on cases where adults working with children are suspected of harm or maltreatment.
Collaborate: Work closely with partner agencies (Police, Education, Health) to ensure a coordinated and effective response to safeguarding concerns.
Expert Advice: Offer sound professional guidance to employers and voluntary organizations regarding their safeguarding responsibilities.
Drive Standards: Contribute to the ongoing development of safeguarding practices across the county, ensuring Lancashire remains a leader in child protection.
Who You Are
Experienced: You have a proven track record in a Local Authority safeguarding environment, specifically within the LADO framework.
Decisive: You possess the "thick skin" and professional confidence to make tough calls and provide clear direction in high-pressure situations.
Flexible: You enjoy the balance of a hybrid working model, based at Lancashire House in Accrington at least two days a week, with the flexibility of home working for the remainder.
Collaborative: You are a team player who thrives in a supportive, fast-paced service.
