Role Overview:
As a Senior Social Worker in the MACH (Multi-Agency Children's Hub) team, you will act as the first point of contact for all safeguarding concerns regarding children and families. You will assess risk, make informed decisions in real-time, and collaborate with partner agencies to ensure children receive timely and effective interventions. This is a critical front-line role that requires sharp decision-making, multi-agency coordination, and robust safeguarding knowledge.
Key Responsibilities include:
Triage and assess incoming referrals regarding concerns for children's welfare.
Apply thresholds accurately to determine the appropriate level of response.
Work closely with police, education, health, and other partners to gather information and inform decisions.
Participate in strategy discussions and initiate Section 47 investigations where necessary.
Record all decisions and actions clearly in line with statutory frameworks.
Provide support and guidance to junior team members and contribute to reflective practice within the team.
Requirements:
Social Work Qualification: Degree or Diploma in Social Work.
Registration: Must be registered with Social Work England.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience, ideally in front-door, duty, or assessment roles.
Skills: Strong risk analysis, communication, and multi-agency working skills.
Knowledge: Sound understanding of thresholds, safeguarding legislation, and child development.
Adaptability: Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, decision-making environment.
