We're looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual with experience in production or manufacturing, who can contribute to a busy team. Ideally, you'll be based in or near Launceston and have a strong focus on safety. Full training will be provided.
Role: Machine Operative
Location: DS Smith Packaging, Hurdon Road, Launceston, PL15 9HN
Job Type: Full Time, Contractual - 3 months initially with potential for extension
Pay:
- Basic Rate: £13.13 per hour
- Overtime 1 (x1.5 - Monday to Saturday AM): £19.70 per hour
- Overtime 2 (x2 - Saturday PM & Sunday): £26.26 per hour
Shifts: 37 hours per week, Double Days Shift:
- Week 1: Mon - Thurs 06:00 - 14:00 & Fri 06:00 - 11:00
- Week 2: Mon - Thurs 14:00 - 22:00 & Fri 11:00 - 16:00
(Including 45-minute paid breaks Mon-Thurs and 15 minutes on Fri)
Start: ASAP (subject to interview and onboarding checks)
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate machinery and equipment in a manufacturing/production environment
- Follow Standard Safe Operating Procedures (SSOW) and UK Health and Safety legislation

Perform routine checks and basic maintenance on machineryEssential Requirements:
- Driving licence and access to a car
- Experience in a manufacturing or production environment
- Strong knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation and SSOW
