Are you an electrical engineering ace who thrives on keeping things running smoothly, even when the pressure's on? Do you have a knack for finding problems before they cause chaos and a passion for making things better? If you're ready to be the driving force behind electrical reliability in a dynamic manufacturing environment, then listen up!
We're looking for a Preventative Maintenance Electrical Engineer to join our team in Bristol. This isn't just about fixing things when they break; it's about proactively ensuring our critical electrical systems are optimised for peak performance and longevity. You'll be at the forefront of our efforts to enhance reliability, drive sustainability, and implement cutting-edge solutions.
Reporting directly to our Senior Electrical Engineer, you'll be the go-to expert for electrical system reliability across key production areas (BB/BLC/Mill). This means you'll be:
- Leading the charge on reliability improvements and sustainability initiatives, turning potential headaches into smooth operations.
- Diving deep into problem-solving sessions, uncovering root causes and implementing lasting solutions.
- Crafting essential documentation that ensures our knowledge is shared and our processes are rock-solid.
- Providing technical leadership that guides day-to-day operations and empowers our teams.
- Orchestrating our preventative and autonomous maintenance plans, ensuring they're executed flawlessly and on schedule, working hand-in-hand with our Production, Quality, Operations, and external partners.
- Teaming up with our maintenance planning squad, making crucial decisions about our most vital assets during maintenance days.
- Ensuring all preventative maintenance tasks are completed safely, to the highest standard, and on time. Your meticulous attention to detail will be key!
- Playing a pivotal role in regular shutdowns within the BB/BLC/Mill areas, collaborating closely with the Maintenance Team Engineer and Maintenance Operations Manager.
- Investigating findings from Condition-Based Monitoring (CBM) and On-the-Run (OTR) inspections, then working with the Senior Electrical Engineer to strategic and integrate these insights into our shutdown planning for maximum effectiveness.
What Will Power Your Success:
We're looking for someone with a strong electrical foundation and a proactive mindset. You'll bring:
- Hands-on experience with CMMS systems (like SAP or E-Maint)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- The ability to read and interpret complex electrical drawings and diagrams
- Direct experience with PLC & VSD systems/equipment (e.g., Allen Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi)
- Previous experience in a fast-paced FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) maintenance department
- Involvement in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) processes
- Exceptional problem-solving skills
- PLC qualifications (a bonus, but not essential).
- A track record of successful collaboration with diverse stakeholders across different departments.
- Solid process knowledge - you understand how systems work and how to make them better.
- A degree-level qualification in engineering, electrical, or a combination of mechanical and electrical, or an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) - your academic foundation is important, but practical experience is key.
