We are looking for a detail-oriented Manufacturing Technician II to join our team in Birmingham. In this role, you will be responsible for the manufacture and in-process testing of in-vitro diagnostic devices, ensuring every product meets the highest quality and regulatory standards. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a scientific background or laboratory experience to contribute to global health outcomes.
Key Information
- Location: Birmingham (Onsite).
- Pay Rate: £13.53 per hour (Equivalent to £28,142.40 per annum).
- Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday, 08:00 - 16:30 (40 hours per week).
- Contract: 12 months with potential for extension.
Your Role and Responsibilities
Production & Testing: Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to manufacture and test diagnostic devices.
Equipment Management: Operate, maintain, and ensure the calibration of manufacturing and testing equipment.- Documentation: Accurately record work progress, inventory transactions, and raw data in real-time within the Quality Management System (QMS) and ERP systems.
- Quality Assurance: Perform required checks and peer verification's to support "right-first-time" manufacturing.
- Environment: Maintain a safe, organised laboratory environment, including the occasional use of walk-in cold rooms and freezers.
Requirements
Education & Experience
Scientific Degree OR 1 year of experience in operations, production, or a lab setting.
- Alternatively, A-Levels in an appropriate scientific subject (or equivalent).
- Preferred: Previous laboratory experience (professional or educational) and knowledge of Health & Safety (COSHH).
- Preferred: Familiarity with Quality System Requirements (e.g., ISO 13485 or cGMP environments).
Skills & Attributes
Technical Literacy: Competent in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for team collaboration.- Organisation: Strong time management and the ability to multi-task in a regulated environment.
- Reliability: Personable, reliable, and possessing a positive attitude
Additional Details
- Dress Code: Casual attire (legs must be covered, no open-toe shoes). All required PPE, including safety goggles and safety shoes, will be provided by the site.
