📝 Roles & Responsibilities
As a MASH IRS Team member, you will be crucial in the initial decision-making process, ensuring swift and appropriate responses to safeguarding concerns.
Risk Assessment: Undertake high-quality, professional screening and risk assessment of incoming referrals and contact in accordance with local thresholds.
Information Gathering: Liaise effectively with multi-agency partners (Police, Health, Education) within the MASH to gather and analyze critical information.
Decision Making: Make timely and evidence-based decisions on the outcome of referrals, determining the required level of intervention (e.g., Early Help, Section 17, Section 47).
Resource Matching: Identify and match the appropriate services and resources from the Integrated Resources Service (IRS) to meet identified needs.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed records on the case management system, adhering to statutory and local procedures.
Referral Management: Progress referrals to the relevant field work teams or external agencies with clear rationale and direction.
Professional Consultation: Provide expert social work consultation and advice to colleagues and partner agencies.
âś… Key Requirements (Essential)
Qualified Social Worker: Must hold a recognised professional Social Work qualification (e.g., Degree, MA, DipSW).
Registration: Current and valid registration with Social Work England is essential.
DBS: Must possess an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, ideally registered with the Update Service.
Experience: Proven experience in frontline children's safeguarding, assessment, and risk management.
