We are seeking a highly skilled, experienced, and dynamic Social Worker to join our MASH team. You will be responsible for undertaking multi-agency screening, gathering, and analysing complex information to make robust, evidence-based decisions on the level of risk and need for vulnerable children and young people. This role is crucial in ensuring timely and effective intervention to safeguard those most at risk.
Key Responsibilities
Act as a lead professional for Social Care within the co-located MASH team.
Receive, screen, and triage all new safeguarding referrals and contacts relating to children and young people (0-18).
Proactively gather, interpret, and analyse information from internal databases and partner agencies (Police, Health, Education, etc.).
Undertake rapid, robust risk and needs assessments, applying thresholds consistently.
Make clear, well-reasoned, and proportionate recommendations for the next course of action (e.g., Early Help, Child in Need Assessment, Section 47 Enquiry, or No Further Action).
Provide professional advice, consultation, and support to partner agencies and the public.
Maintain accurate, concise, and timely electronic case records in compliance with statutory and local procedures.
What You Will Bring
Essential Requirements:
A recognised Social Work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, CQSW).
Current registration with Social Work England (SWE).
Proven experience working within a statutory Children's Social Care setting (e.g., Referral & Assessment, Child Protection, MASH).
Comprehensive knowledge of relevant children's legislation, guidance, and policy (e.g., Children Act 1989 & 2004, Working Together to Safeguard Children).
Demonstrable ability to analyse complex and conflicting information and make critical decisions quickly under pressure.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and report-writing skills.
