We currently offer various pathways to suit your professional needs. For those prioritizing flexibility, our ad-hoc supply roles (£120 - £140 per day) provide the chance to maintain your classroom presence without the commitment of planning. Alternatively, our long-term placements (£150 - £220 per day) allow you to take full ownership of a department, involving full planning, GCSE examination coaching, and departmental meetings.
Key Responsibilities
Dynamic Delivery: Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons covering the Maths curriculum, including Algebra, Geometry, and Ratio/Proportion.
Progress Monitoring: Assess, monitor, and record student development, using data to identify learning gaps and inform GCSE interventions.
Classroom Environment: Establish a stimulating and well-managed learning space that promotes logic, resilience, and problem-solving skills.
Collaboration: Work effectively with the department head regarding schemes of work, resource sharing, and student updates.
Professional Standards: Uphold all school policies regarding safeguarding, behavior management, and professional conduct.
Requirements
Full Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in Mathematics or a quantitative field.
Proven Experience: Teaching Mathematics across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE).
Curriculum Knowledge: Ability to explain complex concepts (such as cumulative frequency or standard form) clearly and engagingly.
Adaptability: Excellent classroom management skills and the flexibility to adapt to established school procedures in the Wigan area.
Compliance: A current Enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
