Location Overview:
This school has three campuses throughout the Florence area, hosting classes from Nursery / age 3 to Secondary School / age 18. Each of the school campuses has state-of-the-art equipment, yet is located in a beautiful historical building, in Florence or in the foothills of Fiesole. The Lower Junior and Upper Junior/Middle School campuses are immersed in quiet, green spaces and boast olive groves and lots of fresh air - a perfect setting for outdoor learning! Job Overview:
The position will be for the Middle school and the ideal profile will have a hands on approach and prioritize STEM learning (Grades 6-8, 11-13 years old).
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering core aspects of the Maths and Science curriculum, using assessments and feedback to sustain and raise achievement.
- Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that caters to the diverse learning needs of students, using differentiated teaching strategies;
- Encourage a growth mindset and develop students' passion for mathematics and science, helping them build essential skills for their future academic and professional endeavours.
- Collaborate with colleagues in the Mathematics and Science Departments and across the school to share best practices and resources.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in Mathematics / Science or a closely related field.
- Teaching certification for example QTS or equivalent.
- Prior experience in an international school environment is desirable.
- Enthusiasm and commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and learning in preparation for examinations.
- Strong IT skills, ability to use multiple platforms and engage students in 21st century learning using relevant tech.
