The SENCO will be responsible for the overall coordination and management of the school's special educational needs provision. Key responsibilities will include:

• Developing, implementing, and reviewing the school's SEN policy and procedures.
• Coordinating and leading the SEN team.
• Assessing students' individual needs and developing appropriate education plans (IEPs).
• Liaising with parents, external agencies (e.g., Educational Psychologists, Local Authority), and other professionals.
• Providing training and support to staff on inclusive practices and SEN strategies.
• Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of SEN provision and making necessary adjustments.
• Maintaining accurate and confidential records and reports in line with school and statutory requirements.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Significant experience as a SENCO in a secondary school setting (minimum 2 years preferred).
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of SEN legislation (e.g., SEND Code of Practice), and best practice.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills; ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
• A commitment to providing high-quality education for all students and a passion for inclusive practice.
