About the 1:1 Primary Teaching Assistant Role:
As a vital part of the primary school team, your primary focus will be delivering personalised, one-on-one support to a student. Your objective is to cultivate an inclusive, positive, and stimulating learning atmosphere, enabling the child to flourish academically and socially. Close collaboration with the classroom teacher will be essential to ensure all individualised learning requirements are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Tailored Student Support: Provide dedicated one-to-one assistance to a primary school pupil, aiding their engagement in learning activities and fostering greater independence.
Lesson Support: Assist with the preparation and delivery of lessons, skillfully adapting educational materials to suit the student's unique needs.
Academic Monitoring: Conduct individual tutoring sessions and diligently track the student's academic progress and personal growth.
Effective Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with the classroom teacher, parents/guardians, and other relevant professionals regarding the student's development.
Holistic Nurturing: Offer pastoral care, actively promoting positive behaviour, essential social skills, and emotional well-being.
Activity Integration: Support the student during school trips, extracurricular engagements, and other educational outings as required.

To excel in this Primary 1:1 Teaching Assistant position, candidates must demonstrate:
Crucial Experience: A track record of prior experience working as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant within a primary school setting is paramount.
SEN Proficiency (Valued): Previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, speech and language challenges, or behavioural difficulties, is a significant advantage.
Exceptional Communication: Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong rapport with students, school staff, and parents.
Patience & Understanding: A profound level of patience, understanding, and empathy, particularly when working with children who have diverse learning requirements.
Adaptability: The capability to work both autonomously and effectively within a collaborative team structure.
Educational Dedication: A genuine commitment to fostering students' learning, development, and overall success.
Relevant Background: Appropriate qualifications or substantial experience in the fields of education, childcare, or a related discipline are beneficial.
