RoleRole & Responsibilities
You will be providing dedicated one-to-one support to a primary school student with additional needs. This involves assisting with their learning, promoting independence, and collaborating closely with the classroom teacher to ensure their individual needs are met. You'll be creating engaging learning experiences, monitoring progress, and building a strong, supportive relationship with the student.
Main tasks include
- Delivering individualised learning support tailored to the student's needs.
- Assisting with lesson preparation and delivery.
- Monitoring student progress and reporting to the classroom teacher and parents.
- Building a positive and supportive relationship with the student.
- Collaborating effectively with the classroom teacher and other support staff.
- Adapting teaching materials to suit the student's learning style.
- Providing pastoral care and support to the student.
- Proven experience as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting.
- Experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is highly advantageous.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and understanding of diverse learning needs.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Passion for supporting student's learning and well-being.
- Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or a related field are beneficial.
- Commitment to safeguarding children.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
