This is the perfect opportunity for an ambitious and adaptable Early Career Teacher (ECT) to dive into the vibrant world of supply teaching in Leeds. If you're looking to build a wide range of experience, sharpen your skills in diverse classrooms, and maintain a healthy work-life balance, then this is the role for you.
Your Role as a Supply ECT:
No two days are the same in the life of a supply teacher! You will have the exciting opportunity to work across different schools and year groups, from Early Years to Year 6. Your key responsibilities will include:
Delivering pre-planned lessons and maintaining a consistent and positive learning environment.
Thinking on your feet and adapting to new classroom routines and school policies with ease.
Using your excellent classroom management skills to engage and motivate pupils.
For longer-term placements, you may have the opportunity to plan, deliver, and assess lessons, truly making a class your own.
Build Your Experience, Your Way:
We know that support is crucial, especially at the start of your career. While on supply, you gain unique benefits that can accelerate your development:
Diverse Experience: Find your niche by working in a variety of school settings large and small, urban and suburban and discover which year group you love to teach.
Flexibility & Control: You choose when and where you work, fitting your career around your life.
Networking: Build connections with schools across Leeds, putting you in a prime position when permanent roles become available.
ECT Induction: A long-term supply placement of a term or more can often count towards the completion of your official ECT induction period.
Dedicated Support: You'll have a dedicated Randstad consultant working to find the right placements for you and offering support throughout your journey.
What We're Looking For:
A qualified teacher with QTS who is passionate about primary education.
An adaptable, resilient, and proactive individual who thrives in new environments.
Someone with strong behaviour management skills and a confident presence in the classroom.
An excellent communicator who can quickly build rapport with both pupils and staff.
Ready for an adventure in teaching?
If you're an ECT excited by the freedom, variety, and experience that supply teaching offers, we want to hear from you.
