- Using your initiative to adapt learning materials and activities to ensure they are accessible and engaging.
- Fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere, building pupil confidence, and encouraging independence.
- Employing effective and compassionate behaviour management strategies in line with school policies.
- Assisting with the personal care needs of pupils where required, with dignity and respect.
What We Are Looking For:
- Proven, recent experience working with children with Special Educational Needs in a primary school setting.
- A patient, resilient, and nurturing personality with a genuine commitment to inclusion.
- Experience with communication aids such as Makaton or PECS is highly desirable.
- Training in de-escalation techniques (e.g., Team Teach) would be a significant advantage.
- An enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or the willingness to obtain one immediately).
