Randstad Education is actively seeking a highly dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant for a full-time position at an inclusive and dynamic primary school in Crawley. The Opportunity:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide crucial support to students with a range of special educational needs, facilitating their access to the curriculum and fostering their personal, social, and academic growth. You will collaborate closely with teachers and parents, assisting in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to ensure that each child's specific requirements are met within a nurturing classroom environment. Your work will directly contribute to creating an empowering atmosphere where every student feels valued and supported.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Providing tailored one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN.
- Assisting in adapting and preparing learning materials to suit individual student needs.
- Monitoring student progress and providing regular, constructive feedback to the class teacher.
- Promoting students' independence and self-confidence through targeted interventions.
- Supporting classroom management to ensure a productive and safe learning space.
- Building positive and trusting relationships with students, staff, and parents to create a cohesive support system.

Essential Requirements:
To be considered for this vital role, you must meet the following criteria:
Experience working with children: Proven experience in an educational or child-related setting is essential.
Passion for helping young learners: A genuine interest in supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of children.
GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade C or above): Strong foundational skills in these core subjects are required.
Enhanced child DBS: A valid, enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check is mandatory. We can assist you with this application process if you do not already have one.
Patience, communication, and classroom management skills: The ability to remain calm under pressure, communicate effectively with diverse groups, and maintain a productive learning environment.
