As a Supply Teaching Assistant, you will have the freedom to choose when and where you work. Whether you are an aspiring teacher looking for classroom experience, a parent returning to work needing school hours, or an experienced TA seeking variety, this role offers the perfect balance.
You will work across Early Years (EYFS), Key Stage 1 (KS1), and Key Stage 2 (KS2), supporting class teachers and ensuring pupils remain engaged and safe.
Key Responsibilities
Classroom Support: Assist the class teacher in delivering lessons and managing the classroom environment.
Interventions: Lead small groups or provide 1:1 support for pupils with lower ability or Special Educational Needs (SEN), focusing on literacy, numeracy, and phonics.
Behaviour Management: Use positive reinforcement to manage behaviour and keep students focused on tasks.
Resource Preparation: Help set up equipment and resources for lessons and tidy up afterwards.
Supervision: assist with supervision during break times and lunchtimes as required.
What We Look for in You
Experience: Previous experience working with children in a school, nursery, or coaching setting (voluntary or paid) is essential.
Qualifications: A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or 3) or a degree in Education/Childhood Studies is highly desirable.
Adaptability: The ability to hit the ground running in new school environments and build rapport quickly with staff and children.
Availability: Flexible availability (minimum 2 days a week) and willingness to travel to schools within the Leeds area.
Safeguarding: A valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
