An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Primary Teacher to join a partner SEN school in Mildenhall. We are seeking an exceptional individual to work with students with a range of special educational needs, including autism spectrum conditions, learning disabilities, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges. This is a unique chance to deliver a bespoke primary curriculum, helping students build foundational skills and confidence in a truly supportive setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver a primary curriculum, including literacy and numeracy, tailored to meet the individual needs of students with SEN.
- Create a calm, positive, and stimulating learning environment that encourages students to feel safe, build confidence, and engage with their education.
- Effectively assess student progress and use this data to inform future teaching and support strategies.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including teaching assistants, therapists, and other professionals, to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
- Manage classroom behaviour with a patient and empathetic approach, fostering a respectful and inclusive atmosphere.
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and the wider school community regarding student progress and well-being.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialism in Primary Education.
- Proven experience teaching primary-aged students. Experience with SEN is highly desirable.
- A strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with SEN and a patient, empathetic approach.
- The ability to differentiate the curriculum and create personalised learning plans.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and teamwork skills.
- A Child DBS on the update service (or a willingness to obtain one).
