An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Primary Teacher to join a partner Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Thetford. We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative individual to deliver an engaging and differentiated curriculum to primary-aged students with a variety of needs, including autism spectrum conditions, learning disabilities, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. This is a chance to truly shape a child's educational journey and help them build a foundation for lifelong learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver a tailored primary curriculum that is accessible and engaging for students with a diverse range of SEN.
- Create a positive, safe, and stimulating classroom environment that supports the social, emotional, and academic development of every child.
- Assess and monitor student progress effectively, using a variety of methods to inform future teaching and interventions.
- Collaborate closely with teaching assistants, parents, and other professionals to ensure a holistic and supportive approach to each child's development.
- Manage classroom behaviour with a patient, empathetic, and consistent approach, fostering respect and a love for learning.
- Contribute to the wider school community, participating in school events and professional development opportunities.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with proven experience as a Primary Teacher.
- Significant experience teaching students with SEN is essential.
- A strong understanding of the challenges and rewards of working in a special educational needs setting.
- The ability to differentiate the curriculum and create personalised learning plans.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A Child DBS on the update service (or a willingness to obtain one).
