The Role: Primary Teaching Assistant (TA)
We are looking for an exceptional Primary Teaching Assistant to provide general classroom support across Key Stages 1 (KS1) and 2 (KS2). This is a hands-on, dynamic role requiring energy and initiative. You will be instrumental in creating an effective learning atmosphere, adapting to various classroom needs, and directly influencing pupil engagement and attainment. Your work will primarily focus on supporting the teaching and learning process under the direction of the class teacher.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Directly support pupils in class, ensuring they understand tasks and stay focused on their learning.
- Lead small group interventions in core subjects (e.g., phonics, reading practice, basic maths skills) as directed by the teacher.
- Prepare and organise the classroom environment, including setting up equipment, tidying resources, and creating appealing displays.
- Assist in the supervision of pupils during out-of-classroom activities, including playground duty and lunchtimes.
- Provide effective one-to-one assistance to pupils with specific needs, working to targets outlined in their learning plans.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding pupil information and school matters at all times.
- Collaborate closely with the class teacher to plan next steps and adapt activities based on pupil observations.
What We're Looking For
- Experience providing support in an educational, childcare, or youth work setting.
- An understanding of child development and primary curriculum expectations.
- Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to follow instructions while also showing initiative.
- A calm, resilient, and enthusiastic demeanor when interacting with children.
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills, able to confidently support KS1 and KS2 tasks.
- A commitment to upholding high safeguarding standards and school policies.
- Flexibility to work across different year groups as the needs of the school dictate.
