The Progress Tutor Role

Essential Requirements:
... - Prior experience in a youth support, coaching, or educational setting.
- A recognised qualification in Education, Youth Work, Counselling, or a related field
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Enhanced Child DBS on the updated service (Willingness to apply for one)

- Competence in delivering engaging workshops or group sessions.
Key Responsibilities
- Student Support: Facilitate a smooth transition to college life, offering guidance and orientation.
- Academic Monitoring: Regularly track and analyse student academic achievement and attendance data using an online portal.
- Motivational Coaching: Provide tailored coaching to foster self-esteem, motivation, and a growth mindset.
- Pastoral Care: Offer front-line pastoral support, building confidence and addressing non-academic barriers to learning.
- Liaison: Act as a key point of contact, liaising with parents/guardians, teachers, and external agencies when necessary.
- Careers Guidance: Deliver careers information, advice, and guidance to support future planning (university, apprenticeships, employment).
- Progress Review: Conduct regular one-to-one and group reviews to discuss performance, feedback, and target setting.
- Intervention Strategy: Promptly intervene when students show signs of under performance, co-developing personalised improvement plans.
- Safeguarding: Uphold the academy's rigorous safeguarding and child protection policies at all times.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date records of all student interactions, progress, and interventions.
