Project Manager - Transformation
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to join our Programme Management Office (PMO). This is a high-profile role within the Business Transformation and Change Directive, supporting the delivery of the Transformation Programme. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing complex, large-scale projects with a high degree of risk, and will work with colleagues and external partners to implement significant change.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage project delivery to a high standard, developing project documentation, and establishing project objectives, plans, costs, and performance measures.
Conduct business analysis and recommend changes to improve services and achieve efficiency gains.
Engage with staff and partners to implement solutions, ensuring compliance with design principles and supporting the transition from "as-is" to "to-be".
Actively engage with stakeholders and project sponsors, communicating effectively on project deliverable to ensure successful outcomes and benefit realisation.
Manage project teams, defining products, standards, and timescales to ensure quality delivery within budget and on time.
Research suppliers, partners, and peer organisations to determine best practices and innovation relevant to the transformation program.
Essential Criteria:
A degree-level qualification or equivalent relevant knowledge and experience.
Experience in developing and delivering medium to large-sized change projects within a large, complex organisation.
Proven experience managing stakeholder relationships and resolving conflict within complex projects.
A track record of delivering service improvements and reducing service costs.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
The ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team, and to manage competing priorities under pressure.
This role involves working on multiple, competing priorities and may deal with strong opinions or opposition from those affected by the projects. While there is no direct core budget responsibility, the role may involve managing project expenditure. The position is predominantly office/home-based but may require travel around the county to various council and partner offices
