A specialist contractor are currently recruiting for Intermediate & Lead Quantity surveyors with the London area to work on prestigious complex projects .
If you have been involved in the delivery of Demolition,Soft Strip , Cut & Carve , RC Construction , Basement , Excavation , Structural Alterations or Sub/Super Structure projects this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
To manage all commercial and contractual aspects of construction projects, ensuring delivery on budget, maximising value, and effectively managing risk.
Key Responsibilities:
Commercial & Financial:
Establish & manage project budgets and cost codes; monitor costs.
Forecast cost to complete & cash flow.
Prepare & submit accurate monthly client valuations/applications.
Conduct Cost/Value Reconciliations (CVRs); report financial performance.
Identify & mitigate commercial risks/opportunities for optimal returns.
Contractual & Procurement:
Administer main & subcontracts, ensuring compliance and stepping down terms.
Manage variation/compensation event mechanisms efficiently.
Lead subcontractor procurement, tender analysis, and negotiation.
Assess subcontractor payments and manage final accounts.
Claims & Management:
Compile contractual correspondence (delays, loss & expense).
Perform delay analysis and quantify loss & expense for claims (highly preferable).
Handle subcontractor issues.
Liaise regularly with clients and represent the company commercially.
Manage & mentor junior commercial staff.
Technical & Systems:
Collaborate with project teams (PMs, engineers, planners).
Utilise company software for reporting, forecasting, and documentation.
Person Specification:
Qualifications & Experience (Essential):
Degree (QS or related).
5+ years senior-level commercial/QS experience.
Specialist/Principal- contractor background.
Experience in Demolition,Soft Strip , Cut & Carve , RC Construction , Basment , Excavation , Structural Alterations or Sub/Super Structure
Extensive subcontractor procurement & management experience.
Ability to manage concurrent projects.
Qualifications & Experience (Desirable):
Professional qualification (MRICS/MCICES) or working towards.
