Quantity Surveyor - Water, Utilities & Power

Based in our Maidstone office, our client is a prestigious consultancy seeking a driven individual to join their dedicated Water, Utilities & Power team. This role offers the chance to work on a diverse portfolio of projects, providing crucial commercial support and expertise. You will be responsible for a range of quantity surveying duties, potentially across multiple projects, working closely with key clients and stakeholders in a dynamic environment.
What you'll be doing (responsibilities will scale with experience):
- Assisting with or taking the lead on cost estimating, cost planning, and commercial reporting.
- Supporting the administration of or managing NEC contracts.
- Involvement in procurement processes, including tender document preparation and evaluation.
- Assisting with or managing valuations, change control, and final accounts.
- Liaising with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Contributing to the commercial success of projects across the water, utilities, and power industries.
What we're looking for:
- For Quantity Surveyor level: Proven experience as a QS, ideally with exposure to infrastructure, utilities, water, or power projects. Strong NEC contract knowledge and commercial management skills.
- For Assistant Quantity Surveyor level: A relevant degree or HNC in Quantity Surveying (or a related construction field) coupled with a genuine passion for developing a QS career. Some prior industry experience or placement is advantageous. Study time and Financial aid for qualification can be provided.
