Contract: 12-month (could be extended further).
Pay rate: Up to £19.60 per hour.
Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:30 (Day shift with potential future shift work)
Key Responsibilities
Working directly with lead engineers, you will be responsible for advancing product development through hands-on technical execution:
Conduct direct build, strip, and measure activities for electrification, powertrain, diesel, and hybrid components.
Run multiple test bed software programs and interpret data to sign off products for customers.
Perform critical checks including insulation resistance, ground bonding, and Hi-Pot checks using tools like CANape.
Use advanced techniques to resolve issues with prototype parts and performance-related problems.
Coordinate with logistics to order components and raise product concerns through reliability development processes.
Travel to customer sites and external test facilities as required (primarily within the UK).
What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual who can work independently while integrating seamlessly into a multi-disciplinary team.
The ideal candidate will have:
Completion of a full Electrical & Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship.
Proven experience working on test beds with engines and rigs, including the ability to produce and interpret data.
Demonstrable electronics/electrical experience.
Strong hands-on experience with diesel engines, transmissions, and powertrains.
A full, clean UK Driving Licence and a valid passport.
Knowledge of electric vehicles, AC/DC motors, and battery cell technology.
Experience with AVL software, CANape, Cat ET, or similar calibration tools.
Skills in hydraulics, fluid power systems, fabrication, or welding.
