Job Purpose
Working as part of a dedicated, highly trained team, you will provide individually focused care for children and young people. Your goal is to create a safe, consistent, and nurturing environment that enables residents to achieve their best outcomes and transition successfully into independence.
Key Responsibilities
Day-to-Day Care: Deliver high-quality "consistent parenting" responses, maintaining household routines and ensuring the home remains a safe, homely environment.
Safeguarding: Actively protect and safeguard each child/young person, adhering strictly to care plans and reporting any incidents immediately.
Link Working: Act as a "link worker" to coordinate with external services, ensuring personal plans are followed and updated to meet the child's evolving needs.
Life Skills: Support residents in engaging with education, training, or employment while teaching essential life skills for future independence.
Community Integration: Help children participate fully in community life and build positive local links.
Professionalism: Maintain high standards of record-keeping, participate in regular supervision/appraisals, and adhere to the Professional Code of Conduct.
Requirements
Essential
Registration: Must be registered with Social Care Wales (or be willing to register within 6 months of starting).
Compliance: An enhanced DBS check is mandatory.
Attributes: Resilience, patience, a calm approach, and the ability to work a rolling shift pattern (including redeployment to other homes if needed).
