Randstad Education is seeking a dedicated and motivated Safeguarding & Welfare Manager to work in a school located in the London Borough of Lewisham. This maternity role will run for at least 9 months and is full time / term time only with additional work in the holidays and is to start May 2024
41 weeks + 3 weeks 35 hours a week

As a Safeguarding & Welfare Manager, you will be responsible for
... - Ensuring the safety and well-being of all children and young people within the school
- You will work closely with staff, parents, and external agencies to identify and manage any safeguarding concerns
- You will be working extremely closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead, aiding with concerns and completing any necessary administration
- Managing referrals to Local Authority Children Social Care
- Managing the school child protection file
- Raising Awareness - ensuring all staff are aware of school child protection policy and updates
Ideal Candidate
- Relevant qualification in Safeguarding & Child Protection
- Experience of working with CPOMs
- Familiarity with with policies concerning Health & Safety, SEN & Equal Opportunities
- Previous Experience of school based experience
- Excellent administrative and ICT skills, including attention to detail on data entry work, and the ability to multitask
- SIMS experience gained from working in a school, voluntarily or paid, as well as experience with Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel
- Effective communication skills, particularly a good written standard of English
- The ability to work with high levels of tact, confidentiality and discretion
- A patient approach towards working with children and adults alike
