The Role: Teaching Assistant (Mainstream Secondary)

Essential Requirements
- Proven experience of working with children or young people, preferably in a secondary school setting.
- The ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Enhanced Child DBS on the updated service (Willingness to apply for one)

Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students, helping them to access the curriculum.
- Assist the class teacher in preparing and delivering engaging lesson activities.
- Help to manage classroom behaviour, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.
- Support students with special educational needs (SEN) or emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD), implementing individualised support plans.
- Listen to students read, support literacy and numeracy skills, and assist with homework.
- Contribute to the assessment and monitoring of student progress, providing feedback to the teacher.
- Supervise students during out-of-lesson times, such as breaks, lunch, and on school trips.
- Undertake administrative duties, including preparing resources, creating displays, and maintaining records.
- Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all students within the classroom and the wider school community.
- Act as a positive role model, fostering a culture of respect, kindness, and hard work.
