Role: Section Engineer on a major new nuclear power station project, responsible for managing specific work packages to ensure safe, high-quality, and on-programme construction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead a dedicated team of site engineers and subcontractors within an allocated section of works.
- Implement and enforce all health, safety, environmental, and quality standards, ensuring full compliance on site.
- Accurately interpret project plans, detailed specifications, and approved method statements for construction activities.
- Execute precise setting out of engineering works and ensure all necessary inspections, checks, and client approvals are obtained.
- Monitor and report on progress against the project programme, proactively identifying and resolving potential delays or technical issues.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration with the project management team, specialist subcontractors, and other key stakeholders.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all work performed, including as-built documentation, quality assurance records, and site diaries.
- Drive continuous improvement in site operations and foster a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Requirements: Civil Engineering degree (or equivalent), significant Section Engineer experience on large-scale civil engineering or infrastructure projects, strong knowledge of construction methods and safety regulations, proficient in setting out techniques and surveying equipment.
