As an SEMH TA, you will play a crucial role in providing tailored support to meet the unique needs of students. 📚
Your Responsibilities:
- Assist classroom teachers in implementing individualised support plans for students with SEMH.
- Provide one-on-one support to students, helping them develop coping strategies and emotional regulation skills.
- Create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where all students feel safe and supported.
- Collaborate with colleagues and specialists to address the holistic well-being and academic progress of students.
- Support students in managing their emotions and behaviour, promoting positive interactions and social skills.
- Work closely with SEMH specialists and education teams to ensure consistent support and monitor progress.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with students with SEMH or in a caregiving role for individuals with mental health difficulties is desirable.
- Genuine passion for supporting students' social, emotional, and mental well-being, and dedication to their welfare and development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly in de-escalating challenging situations.
- Patience, empathy, and resilience in supporting students.
- Proactive and adaptable approach to meeting the diverse needs of students with SEMH.
- Relevant qualifications or willingness to undergo training in SEMH support.
