If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you! Randstad Education is seeking a meticulous and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant for a specialist setting in the Wakefield area, focusing on pupils with low-incidence medical and physical needs.
Key Responsibilities:
This role demands a high level of medical awareness and precise support. Your responsibilities will include:
Implementing prescribed physiotherapy, occupational therapy, or speech and language programmes in the classroom setting.
Maintaining meticulous, confidential records regarding medical needs, seizures, and daily progress to ensure continuity of care.
Safely supporting pupils using specialist equipment, requiring knowledge of risk assessments and moving and handling procedures.
Acting as the primary communication link between medical staff, the teaching team, and parents.
Requirements:
To excel in this position, you must possess:
Proven experience supporting pupils with complex medical or physical needs (e.g., complex epilepsy, physical disability).
A current, verifiable First Aid or Paediatric First Aid qualification is highly desirable.
An Enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply for a new one).
The legal right to work in the UK without any restrictions.
Training in Moving & Handling and/or administering medication is highly advantageous.
Exceptional reliability, maturity, and a high level of professional integrity.
