The Role
We are seeking a committed and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will:
- Work closely with pupils who display challenging behaviour linked to social and emotional difficulties
- Support students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups to re-engage with learning
- Help implement behaviour support plans and positive behaviour strategies
- Collaborate with teaching staff, pastoral leads, and external professionals
- Promote emotional wellbeing, resilience, and self-esteem in all interactions
- Assist with daily routines, learning activities, and, where required, personal care

Requirements
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with children or young people with SEMH or additional needs (in education, youth work, care, or similar settings)
- Can remain calm and consistent under pressure
- Builds strong, positive relationships based on trust and respect
- Has a good understanding of safeguarding and child protection
- Is a team player with excellent communication skills
- Holds a relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) - desirable but not essential
