Role and responsibilities
Deliver engaging English literacy programs tailored to diverse learners with SEN, including Autism, ADHD, SLD, and PMLD.
Create and adapt teaching materials to suit individual learning styles and developmental needs.
Assess student progress using alternative literacy milestones and frameworks.
Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including SENCOs, therapists, and other support staff.
Maintain detailed records of student progress and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Create a safe and encouraging classroom environment that fosters positive student relationships.
Utilize a range of teaching strategies and resources to meet diverse learning needs.
Assist with personal care needs as required, depending on student needs.
Requirements
We're looking for you, if:
You hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
You have legal authorization to work in the UK (no sponsorship provided).
You possess a current enhanced DBS check (or are willing to obtain one).
You have proven experience teaching SEN students in UK schools (minimum 6 Months).
Experience working with students below Key Stage 1 (KS1) is highly desirable.
You demonstrate excellent classroom management and communication skills.
You possess a strong understanding of different SEN needs and adaptive teaching methodologies.
You are a team player with a collaborative and supportive approach.
You are passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with additional needs.
