Newmarket
We are seeking a proactive and energetic SEN Support Worker to join our partner SEN School in Newmarket. This role is uniquely focused on community integration and life-skills development. You won't just be supporting a student within four walls; you will be their guide to the outside world-helping them navigate public spaces, attend vocational placements, and develop the confidence to lead an independent life. Because this role involves significant community travel, a valid UK driving license and access to a vehicle are mandatory.
Your Responsibilities
- 1:1 Holistic Support: Provide dedicated emotional and behavioural support for young people with Autism (ASC) and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), using de-escalation techniques as needed.
- Vocational Mentoring: Assist students in vocational environments, helping them understand professional expectations and develop practical workplace skills.
- Safety & Risk Management: Conduct ongoing dynamic risk assessments while out in the community to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the student at all times.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate daily logs of community activities and progress toward EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) goals.
What You'll Bring to the Team
- Driving License & Vehicle (Mandatory): A full UK driving license and a reliable car with Business Insurance (or willingness to add it).
- Resilient Energy: A "can-do" attitude and the physical stamina to be out and about in Newmarket and the surrounding areas all day.
- SEN or Care Experience: Proven experience supporting individuals with additional needs, mental health challenges, or learning disabilities.
- Strong Communication: The ability to build rapport quickly and act as a professional bridge between the student and the local community.
- Compliance: An enhanced Adult & Child DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to process one urgently through Randstad).
Why Partner with Randstad?
- Competitive Hourly Rates: £95 - £100 per day
- Newmarket Outreach: A refreshing role that gets you out of the classroom and into the local community.
- Complete Flexibility: We have both full-time and part-time shifts available to suit your lifestyle.
- Free Specialist CPD: Boost your profile with certified training in Team Teach, Epilepsy Awareness, and Safeguarding.
- Referral Rewards: Earn a £300 voucher for every qualified support worker or TA you refer to our team!
