Randstad Education is recruiting for an SEN TA specialising in Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) for a school in the WF2 area of Wakefield.
About the School This school specialises in supporting children who find mainstream environments challenging. It offers a trauma-informed curriculum and prioritises the building of high-trust relationships. The staff team is incredibly supportive, providing regular de-briefs and specialist training for all support assistants.
Roles & Responsibilities
Building high-trust, professional relationships with hard-to-reach pupils.
Implementing individual behaviour plans and de-escalation techniques.
Supporting pupils to engage with academic tasks through creative differentiation.
Assisting with the transition between classroom activities and outdoor learning.
Collaborating with the SENCo to review and update pupil profiles.
Requirements
Experience in a PRU, SEMH setting, or supporting challenging behaviour in mainstream.
Training in de-escalation (e.g., Team Teach) is highly desirable.
A calm, unflappable, and empathetic personality.
