Bury St Edmunds
Are you a visionary educator ready to redefine what "progress" looks like for students with complex needs?
Do you have the clinical precision to track EHCP targets and the creative soul to turn a classroom into a multisensory world of discovery?
If you are a qualified teacher who believes that a diagnosis should never be a ceiling on a child's potential, we have the perfect leadership role for you in Bury St Edmunds. We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher to take the helm of a small, specialised class. This is an environment where the "National Curriculum" is a starting point, not a cage, and where your pedagogical flexibility will be your greatest asset.
Your Leadership in the Classroom
- Custom Curriculum Design: You won't just follow a scheme of work; you will build bespoke learning pathways for students with ASC, SLD, and SEMH.
- The "Team Around the Child": You will lead and inspire a team of 2-3 Teaching Assistants, ensuring a cohesive and high-impact support environment.
- Multisensory Delivery: From "Attention Autism" stages to sensory circuits, you will use evidence-based interventions to engage learners who struggle with traditional sit-down lessons.
- EHCP Mastery: You will act as the architect of each student's progress, setting ambitious yet achievable targets and leading annual reviews with parents and professionals.
- Safeguarding & Wellbeing: You will create a "high-support, low-arousal" sanctuary where students feel safe to communicate-whether through speech, signs, or symbols.
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): This is non-negotiable for this specialist role.
- SEN Expertise: Significant experience working with children with complex needs or severe learning difficulties.
- Adaptive Pedagogy: A deep understanding of how to differentiate for non-verbal learners and those with sensory processing disorders.
- Resilience & Empathy: The ability to remain a calm, stabilising force in a fast-paced and occasionally challenging environment.
- Vetting: An enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to process a new one).
The Benefits of Joining Randstad
- Premium Pay: £150 - £220 per day, reflecting your status as a qualified specialist.
- Consistent Placement: A long-term, full-time role in a well-regarded Bury St Edmunds school.
- Professional Evolution: Free access to advanced training modules, including Team Teach, Makaton, and Safeguarding Level 3.
- Community: Join a network of educators supported by a dedicated consultant who knows the Suffolk education sector inside out.
- Referral Bonus: Earn £300 for every qualified teacher you introduce to the Randstad family.
