An outstanding SEN School in Ely is seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified SEN Teacher to join their primary team from September 2025 to cover a maternity leave. The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- QTS or QTLS with experience teaching in SEN or inclusive settings.
- Child DBS on the update service
- A deep understanding of a range of SEN including ASD, communication needs, and complex behaviour.
- A creative, flexible, and resilient approach to teaching and learning.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A commitment to inclusive education and a belief that all children can succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, and assess creative, engaging, and differentiated lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of SEN pupils.
- Implement and review individual Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) in collaboration with parents, support staff, and external professionals.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that supports the emotional and educational development of each pupil.
- Use a range of communication strategies and sensory approaches to support children with autism, social communication needs, and sensory processing difficulties.
- Manage a class team effectively, including Teaching Assistants, ensuring consistency, high expectations, and mutual support.
- Monitor, record, and report on pupil progress, celebrating successes and identifying areas for further development.
- Contribute to whole school development, including staff training, collaborative planning, and community engagement.
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of all pupils in line with the school's safeguarding policy.
