Newmarket
Are you an educator who believes that every "barrier" is simply an invitation to teach differently?
Can you cultivate a classroom environment in Newmarket where sensory needs are the priority, and the curriculum is reshaped to meet the unique cognitive profiles of every learner?
We are seeking a Qualified SEN Teacher to lead a specialist classroom in Newmarket. This role is designed for a practitioner who thrives on the "small-step" victories and possesses the pedagogical expertise to support students with Autism (ASC), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and complex communication needs. In this setting, you aren't just a teacher; you are a facilitator of independence and a champion for inclusive excellence.
Your Strategic Impact
- Bespoke Learning Design: Develop and deliver a highly individualized curriculum that integrates academic milestones with sensory integration and functional life skills.
- Support Team Stewardship: Direct and inspire a team of Teaching Assistants, ensuring they are expertly deployed to provide 1:1 interventions and effective classroom regulation.
- Communication Mastery: Lead a "Total Communication" environment, modeling the use of Makaton, PECS, and visual aids to ensure every student has a voice.
- EHCP Milestone Ownership: Manage the assessment and review process for Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), setting meaningful targets that reflect the whole child.
- Proactive Regulation: Implement Positive Behavior Support (PBS) frameworks, maintaining a low-arousal space that utilizes sensory circuits and "safe zones" to keep students engaged.
- Collaborative Advocacy: Work in close partnership with parents, the SENCO, and external therapists (OT/SLT) to create a seamless support network for your pupils.
What You'll Bring
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): This is mandatory. We welcome applications from experienced SEN specialists or mainstream teachers with a proven dedication to special education.
- Inclusive Pedagogy: Familiarity with evidence-based frameworks such as Attention Autism, SCERTS, or TEACCH.
- Resilient Calm: The ability to remain a grounded, co-regulating influence for students who may experience emotional dysregulation.
- Leadership Vision: A genuine drive to mentor your support staff and advocate for the dignity and rights of your students.
- Compliance: An enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to process one through Randstad).
Why Lead with Randstad?
- Elite Daily Rates: £150 - £220 per day (PAYE), reflecting your expertise and QTS status.
- Consistent Stability: Secure a full-time, long-term placement in a supportive Newmarket school that values staff well-being.
- Specialist CPD: Access free, senior-level training in Team Teach, Autism Level 2, and Advanced Safeguarding.
- Personalised Support: Work with Neeraj, your dedicated consultant who understands the specific landscape of the Suffolk SEN sector.
- Referral Bonus: Earn £300 for every qualified teacher you refer to the Randstad family.
