An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and compassionate Qualified SEN Teacher to join a partner SEN school in Thetford. We're looking for an exceptional individual to deliver engaging, personalised lessons and help students with a variety of needs, including autism spectrum conditions, learning disabilities, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging and accessible lessons tailored to meet individual student needs.
- Create a positive and stimulating learning environment that encourages students to thrive.
- Effectively assess student progress and use this data to inform future teaching strategies.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including teaching assistants, therapists, and other professionals, to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
- Manage classroom behaviour with a patient and empathetic approach, fostering a safe and respectful atmosphere.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and well-being.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
- Proven experience teaching students with SEN is crucial.
- A strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with SEN and a patient, empathetic approach.
- The ability to differentiate the curriculum and create personalised learning plans.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and teamwork skills.
- A Child DBS on the update service (or a willingness to obtain one).
