Responsibilities Include:
- Providing support and assistance to students with SEN to promote their academic and personal development
- Collaborating with teachers and SENCO to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and adapt teaching materials
- Creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported
- Assisting with classroom management and behaviour support for students with SEN
- Delivering one-to-one or small group interventions to address specific learning needs
- Supporting students with personal care and medical needs, if required
Specific Duties:
- Working closely with SENCO to assess and monitor students' progress and provide regular feedback
- Implementing strategies to support students' social and emotional well-being
- Facilitating communication and interaction for students with communication difficulties
- Liaising with external agencies and professionals to ensure coordinated support for students with SEN
- Participating in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in SEN provision
Person Specification:
- Genuine passion for supporting students with SEN and promoting inclusive education
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers
- Ability to adapt teaching approaches and resources to meet the diverse needs of students with SEN
- Empathy, patience, and resilience to overcome challenges and celebrate successes with students
- Previous experience working in a similar role or with individuals with SEN is desirable but not essential
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and willingness to undertake relevant training
