An outstanding opportunity is available for a motivated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a partner school in Thetford. We are looking for someone to provide crucial assistance to students who require additional support to manage their feelings, build relationships, and engage with their education. This role offers you the chance to make a lasting impact by helping young people overcome barriers to learning.
Your Role Will Involve:
- Providing one-to-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs.
- Assisting the classroom teacher in creating a calm and structured learning environment.
- Helping students develop coping strategies and social skills.
- Collaborating with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure a consistent and supportive approach.
- Encouraging students to participate in lessons and school activities.
- Supporting the implementation of personalised behaviour and support plans.
What We're Looking For:
- Prior experience supporting students with SEMH needs is essential.
- A compassionate, calm, and resilient approach.
- The ability to build strong, trusting relationships with students.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A Child DBS on the update service or a willingness to obtain one.
