If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you! Randstad Education is seeking a compassionate and highly skilled SEN Teaching Assistant for a rewarding role in a specialist primary setting in the Bradford area, focusing on Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD).
Key Responsibilities:
As a specialist TA, your role will focus entirely on the pupil's holistic needs and well-being. Your responsibilities will include:
Planning and delivering immersive, sensory-rich activities (e.g., hydrotherapy, tactile engagement) aligned with individualised learning goals.
Assisting confidently with all aspects of personal care, including feeding, hygiene, and changing, maintaining the pupil's dignity at all times.
Safely using specialist equipment (hoists, wheelchairs) and applying approved Moving & Handling techniques to support mobility.
Utilising non-verbal communication methods (objects of reference, gesture) to build rapport and aid interaction.
Implementing programmes set by Speech and Language Therapists (SALT) and Occupational Therapists (OT) within the classroom.
Requirements:
To excel in this position, you must possess:
Extensive, recent experience supporting children with PMLD or complex physical disabilities.
Proven confidence in providing personal care and using specialist manual handling equipment.
An Enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply for a new one).
The legal right to work in the UK without any restrictions.
Training certificates in Moving & Handling and/or Team Teach are highly advantageous.
Exceptional patience, reliability, and physical fitness necessary for the demands of the role.
