An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a partner Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Impington. We are looking for a caring and resilient individual to provide essential support to students with a variety of needs, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their goals. This is a chance to have a profound and lasting impact on young lives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with a range of needs, including learning difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
- Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual student needs.
- Help create a stimulating and supportive classroom environment that encourages independence and a love for learning.
- Support the physical, emotional, and social development of students, ensuring their well-being and safety at all times.
- Collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive and supportive approach to student development.
- Assist with the preparation of teaching materials and classroom resources.
Requirements
- Experience as a teaching assistant or learning support mentor is desirable.
- A strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with SEN and a patient, empathetic approach.
- The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with students and colleagues.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A Child DBS on the update service (or a willingness to obtain one).
