We are seeking a proactive and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive SEN School community in Burwell. This role is perfect for someone who is ready to provide vital support to students with diverse and complex needs, helping them to unlock their potential and engage fully with their education.
What You'll Be Doing
- Working with individual students and small groups to provide tailored support for their specific learning and emotional needs.
- Assisting the classroom teacher in delivering creative and differentiated lessons that are accessible to all students.
- Helping to create and maintain a positive and safe classroom environment where every student feels supported.
- Supporting students' personal and social development, building their confidence and independence.
- Collaborating with the teaching team, parents, and external professionals to ensure a consistent and effective support plan for each student.
- Preparing learning materials and resources to help facilitate engaging lessons.
What We're Looking For
- Experience supporting students with a range of special educational needs (e.g., autism, learning difficulties, emotional and mental health needs).
- A strong, empathetic, and compassionate approach to supporting students and understanding their unique challenges.
- The ability to build trusting and positive relationships with students and staff.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A Child DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
