An excellent opportunity has opened for a Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant to join our partner school in Girton, starting in February 2026. This long-term contract is ideal for someone with previous SEN experience or a strong, foundational understanding of how to support children with diverse learning needs. You will be providing essential 1:1 and small group assistance, ensuring that every student feels included, supported, and capable of reaching their goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Dedicated Support: Work closely with individual students to help them stay engaged, motivated, and confident during classroom activities.
- February 2026 Start: Hit the ground running as a consistent, reliable presence for students for the remainder of the academic year.
- Inclusion Advocacy: Assist the class teacher in adapting materials and the environment to suit students with Autism, ADHD, or moderate learning difficulties.
- Monitoring Progress: Help track student milestones and provide feedback that contributes to their individual learning plans.
- Emotional Well-being: Foster a safe and positive atmosphere by using gentle encouragement and inclusive behaviour strategies.
- Team Collaboration: Work as part of a close-knit school team to ensure a unified approach to student care and development.
Requirements
- SEN Experience Preferred: Previous experience working with children with additional needs is highly valued.
- Commitment: Available for a full-time, long-term role starting in February 2026.
- Personality: A calm, resilient, and compassionate nature with a genuine passion for inclusive education.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to build trust with students, staff, and parents.
- Proactive Attitude: The ability to use your initiative and adapt to the changing needs of the school day.
- Compliance: An enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or a willingness to obtain one).
