We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our partner SEN School in Ely. The school is seeking a resilient and dedicated individual to provide essential support to students with a variety of complex needs. This role is a chance to truly make a difference, helping young people access their education and achieve their personal best.
Core Responsibilities
- Work one-to-one and with small groups of students with a range of special educational needs, including autism, learning difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
- Support the class teacher in preparing and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual student needs.
- Help cultivate a stimulating and nurturing classroom atmosphere that promotes independence and a love of learning.
- Prioritize the physical, emotional, and social well-being of students, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to maintain a consistent and supportive approach to student development.
- Assist in the creation of teaching materials and classroom resources.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a role supporting students with special educational needs.
- A strong understanding of the unique challenges students with SEN face, combined with a compassionate and empathetic approach.
- The ability to form positive, trusting relationships with both students and colleagues.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A Child DBS on the update service (or a willingness to obtain one).
