We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our partner SEN School in Ely. The school is seeking a resilient and dedicated individual to provide essential support to students with a variety of complex needs. This role is a chance to truly make a difference, helping young people access their education and achieve their personal best.

Core Responsibilities

• Work one-to-one and with small groups of students with a range of special educational needs, including autism, learning difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
• Support the class teacher in preparing and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual student needs.
• Help cultivate a stimulating and nurturing classroom atmosphere that promotes independence and a love of learning.
• Prioritize the physical, emotional, and social well-being of students, ensuring their safety at all times.
• Collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to maintain a consistent and supportive approach to student development.
• Assist in the creation of teaching materials and classroom resources.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a role supporting students with special educational needs.
• A strong understanding of the unique challenges students with SEN face, combined with a compassionate and empathetic approach.
• The ability to form positive, trusting relationships with both students and colleagues.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A Child DBS on the update service (or a willingness to obtain one).
