This opportunity follows a regular school term timetable, with hours from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities Include:
- Working with students aged 11-19 with special learning needs and disabilities in a specialist setting.
- Assisting teachers and caregivers in achieving academic goals.
- Engaging students with activities that foster creativity and imagination.
- Supporting students to ensure comprehension of lessons.
- Working with students in small groups or 1:1 to understand their specific needs.
- Collaborating closely with teachers, caregivers, and parents to implement positive behaviour strategies and address student issues.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with SEN students or similar transferable experience.
- Patient, passionate, and professional demeanour.
- Ability to manage students with challenging behaviour.
- Confidence, punctuality, and eagerness.
- Effective behaviour management and the ability to build positive learning relationships with SEN students.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (assistance available through Randstad if needed).
