The Role
We're looking for an empathetic and proactive Teaching Assistant to join an outstanding team at an SEN school in Mildenhall. The ideal candidate is an adaptable individual with a genuine passion for supporting students with diverse needs. This role is perfect for a caring person who wants to contribute to a positive and supportive learning atmosphere. You will collaborate closely with teachers and other staff to provide personalised support, guiding students to overcome challenges and achieve their personal best.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with special educational needs.
- Work in partnership with the class teacher to deliver engaging and accessible lessons for all students.
- Help create a calm and positive classroom environment where students feel secure and motivated to learn.
- Assist with the social, emotional, and physical development of students.
- Modify learning materials and activities to meet the specific requirements of individual students.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
- Oversee the general well-being and supervision of students throughout the school day.
What We're Looking For
- Experience working with children or young people, with a strong preference for experience in an SEN setting.
- A naturally caring, empathetic, and compassionate personality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The flexibility to adapt and use your own initiative.
- A positive outlook and a genuine commitment to helping SEN students succeed.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant) are a plus, but not essential.
