We are looking for a caring and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming SEN school in Mildenhall. This is an exciting opportunity to provide vital support to students with a wide range of complex needs, empowering them to grow academically and personally.
About the Role
You will work closely with students, offering one-to-one and small group support to help them access the curriculum and achieve their full potential. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Individualised Support: Providing tailored assistance to students with various needs, including autism, learning difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
- Classroom Collaboration: Working with the class teacher to deliver engaging and differentiated lessons.
- Positive Environment: Helping to create a stimulating and supportive classroom that promotes independence and a love for learning.
- Student Well-being: Ensuring the physical, emotional, and social well-being of all students under your care.
- Teamwork: Communicating effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a consistent and positive approach to student development.
- Resource Preparation: Assisting with the creation and organization of teaching materials.
What We're Looking For
- Experience: Proven experience supporting students with special educational needs.
- Empathy: A compassionate approach, with a strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with SEN.
- Team Player: Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Child DBS: An up-to-date Child DBS on the update service or a willingness to obtain one.
